Since its establishment in 1979, LIAM Construction has been an unwavering presence in the construction, restoration, and renovation landscape across various sectors of the building industry. With an extensive history of contributing to diverse projects such as apartments, commercial buildings, churches, schools, and more, LIAM has always been at the forefront of transformative endeavors. LIAM Construction has built Community Support Services such as schools , churches, hospitals, RCMP & recreation facilities in Alberta and British Columbia.

Fort McMurray's Fire in 2016:

  • An entire town evacuation was necessitated due to the fire.
  • LIAM Construction played pivotal roles as essential service providers.
  • Clearance gained to enter right after emergency measures were lifted.
  • Restoration of mixed-use buildings with commercial and residential components.
  • Initially, a workforce of 60-80 individuals was engaged.
  • 7 buildings comprising 676 residential units suffered smoke damage.
  • Complex challenge: Smoke-damaged parkades, requiring specialized attention.
  • Each building’s construction value ranged from 20-30 million USD.

Fort Mcmurray's Flood In 2020:

  • A more expansive flood event struck, affecting a substantial part of downtown Fort McMurray.
  • Triggered by a 100-year flood caused by an ice jam on the Athabasca River.
  • 9 major buildings experienced inundation up to 5 feet above the main floor commercial spaces.
  • The floodwaters submerged all parkades, significantly impacting essential equipment.
  • Boilers and switch gear, situated in parkades, were severely affected.
  • Floodwaters were classified as category 3, containing a multitude of contaminants.

Lytton's Fire of 2021:

In the aftermath of the Lytton wildfires in British Columbia, LIAM Construction has emerged as a beacon of restoration, playing a key role in rebuilding communities. Through deep ties, partnerships, and collaborations with both the Lytton First Nations and the Village of Lytton, LIAM Construction has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the task of rebuilding after the devastating 2021 wildfire that displaced all residents.

 

LIAM Construction’s commitment goes beyond construction; they are also dedicated to nurturing resilience within communities. By working closely with Lytton, they are now ready to submit permit packages for the revival of homes. This stands as a testament to unity prevailing over adversity and their determination to get people back into their homes.

 

Furthermore, LIAM Construction has partnered with local communities, provincial and federal agencies to craft plans and designs that integrate step code standards and bolster fire protection. This strategic approach aims to foster a safer, more sustainable community with minimal environmental impact, highlighting LIAM Construction’s commitment to comprehensive restoration.
